Attorney Sam Nicholson is past Chairman of the State Ethics Commission, served as a State Representative and is past Chairman and past Member of the Board of Directors of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame. Sam also served as the Chairman of the Board of Augusta Preparatory Day School, and President of the Parish Council at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Augusta.

Attorney Harry Revell currently serves as Immediate Past President of the Augusta Bar Association and is a member of the Executive Committee. He has served as a Board Member of the Columbia County’s Greenspace Committee, the Augusta Ballet, the United Cerebral Palsy Board of the CSRA, and the Family Y. He is a past President of the Lakeside High Athletic Association.

Helping Families and Communities

Through the Raising the Bar Campaign, the Augusta Bar Association focuses its community and public service activities on a particular charity each year, through both fundraising and volunteer efforts. The Executive Committee of the Augusta Bar designated Safe Homes of Augusta as the Raising the Bar Campaign charity for 2011. At the annual meeting on January 19, 2012, the Augusta Bar presented a check for over $10,000 to Safe Homes to assist in ongoing operations. Safe Homes offers comprehensive services to persons experiencing domestic violence and works to educate the community in an effort to break the cycle of violence.
